The team at Standby Saturday would like to express their appreciation and thanks to all the schools that joined the Standby Saturday schools competition. The design logos for Standby Sally and Sam were very well supported and many schools from across Australia put in a lot of effort for the best Standby Saturday Campaign.
We would like to acknowledge the effort of all the teachers and students. We understand the amount of work that was put into the Standby Saturday competition and are glad it was something educational and fun.
The judging decision was not easy because of the number and quality of the entries. In fact we had to include an additional category for Prep. However the student winners for the best Standby Sally and Sam.

The winning Standby Saturday School Campaign was Vermont Primary School in Victoria. They had over 170 students participate and submit a range of fabulous artwork. The effort put in was outstanding and we recognise the entire teaching staff were engaged in various lessons to achieve this result.
Awards will be presented in the first week of July.
Thanks to all the entrants from all across Australia from Perth to Kuranda. We now have to spread the word so we are all ready on 25 October 2008 for the world wide Standby Saturday.

Judging of the Standby Saturday Schools competition extended due to volume of entries

Over 100 Australian schools have registered for Standby Saturday. Schools as far apart as Perth and Mareeba have signed up. Teachers have been impressed by the range of curriculum guides about sustainability.

Standby Saturday announces increased range of school fundraising packs. Dr Adrian Bertolini advised. We are committed to providing thought leading capabilities for our supporters. It was a natural extension to provide a way to easily and cost effectively provide schools a way to reinforce the message at home.
