Switch Off - All The Time, Every Time.
The most powerful approach to causing sustainable habits is to educate our young people. The hope of our planet is our children, and they will hope we show our responsibility in our actions today. Climate Change demands we green our planet. There is a wealth of information available regarding BioFuels, Solar Power, Solar Panels LED Lighting and the need for environmentally Sustainable ecofriendly change. Teachers and Schools have a vital part to play in educating to protect this legacy. Children are also able to educate their family to show how easy it is to create healthy home environments that are green and save money and energy. As we adapt to a low Carbon world, standby has no place.
School Fundraising Standby Saturday have put together an excellent and simple fundraising initiative for schools to link into their school curriculum on energy usage and climate change. |
On this page you will find a range of Education Resources that you can download once you have registered. There are videos, lesson plans, flyers, media kits, class projects, and you can even request presenters to come and talk at your school about climate change and saving energy. Essentially we show saving the planet is about saving energy and other resources. In so doing children learn it is also about saving money.

Watt’s That Junior Game
This a very simple quiz game on energy from the Californian Energy Quest website. It is an excellent one to play with younger students and can include monopoly money if you wish!
Ergon Quiz
Another simple quiz game covering energy from Ergon Energy (an energy provider in Australia). There are a range of other activities at this website as well.
Grade 4 to Grade 8
Energy Vampire Game
Great little game about how people can save energy by turning off appliances around the house. From the Energy Quest website.
Watt’s That Interactive Game
A more senior version of the Watt’s That energy game from the fabulous Energy Quest people.
Energy Hog Games
This website is brilliant! Our kids loved playing the games on this website and learning all about saving energy.
Ollie’s World Energy Game
Ollie’s World is a wonderful invention of a couple of Australians who have taken to linking simple inventive games with learning about energy. Perfect for Grade 4 – 8 students.
Planet Slayer
Even the ABC gets in on the act with their Planet Slayer section of games. Great for linking ABC’s environmental programs with kids.
Grade 9 and above
Enviroboarder
This is a skateboarding game which has a recycling theme. It is quite challenging to do tricks and pick up recyclable materials!
Flex Your Power Game
This game is awesome. It is run as a quiz show and it is fully animated. It is a bit American in the accents but we were very impressed by the level of understanding and thinking required.
