Standby Saturday Business Section

Standby energy is quite a large expense for businesses as well as households. If your organisation uses computers then for each computer standby can cost you around 30 - 40W every hour it is left on standby. This wastes around 200 kWh per computer every year. In monetary terms this equates to approximately $20 per annum (based on 10 cents per kWh).. If your business has 200 computers then $4000 leaves your pocket simply because of standby.

With the range of appliances now used in offices, schools, and business this is the lower end of the cost.

Business large and small can become involved in a number of ways.
